Left to Die is the story of 72 African refugees adrift in a dinghy in the Mediterranean Sea, without food or water, for 14 days. They are on their way from Libya to Lampedusa when they run out of fuel. A military helicopter, a NATO warship and several fishing boats spot the vessel drifting helplessly in the sea but abandon the men in the dinghy to their fate. When the boat is washed ashore on the Libyan coast two weeks later, only nine of the 72 passengers on board are still alive.
