After 1945, predominantly apolitical sculptures were initially erected in Vienna’s public housing projects– mainly animals. The film shows 17 of these sculptures, combined with monologs, dialogs, poems and songs. A final montage sequence shows the “Children of Vienna,” accompanied by André Heller’s song of the same name, as kids climb around on so-called play sculptures.
